Summer Lemonade!

Jul 24, 2014

Water, juice, coffee (I love my Chemex!), and now lemonade! Wow, that's a lot of beverages. This sour lemonade recipe - made with hibiscus - is bursting with vitamin C and rich in antioxidants. The vibrantly colored hibiscus plant helps keep the body temperature cool in hot conditions and serves to protect the liver. Such a beautiful Summer beverage!

Hibiscus Lemonade

3 cups boiling water

2 tbs dried hibiscus

1 lime, juiced

1/2 lemon, juiced

1 tbs maple syrup

Steep hibiscus tea (use a stainless steel mesh tea ball) in boiling water for 10 mins. Removed tea & let cool. Add maple syrup, lime & lemon juices & stir well. Chill or serve over ice. Store in a glass container with lid for up to 5 days.
